4 Ways to Have Cleaner Air Inside the Home

When company comes over, it’s easy to think about cleaning up clutter and other living spaces, but have you thought about cleaning up the air in your home? These simple tips will help you have cleaner air, keeping your family and friends healthy and comfortable in your Isle of Palms, South Carolina, home.

Indoor Plants

Plants act as natural air filters and are a simple way to improve the indoor air quality of your home. Certain plants are better at filtering your air, so try growing aloe vera, which is also great to have nearby if you ever get a sunburn. If you feel you don’t have a green thumb, try a spider plant, which is quite easy to grow.

Change Air Filter

Your HVAC system also filters the air inside your home, so don’t forget to regularly check and change the air filter. If you have a full filter, your HVAC system won’t be able to continue removing the dust and other dirty air particles from your air. Changing your air filter will keep the air flowing through your home clean and healthy.

Use a Floor Mat

Something you may not have thought about in helping to keep your air clean is placing a floor mat near the door. When you enter from outside, you and your guests will bring in dirt and dust. So having a doormat will help limit the amount of dirt that is brought into your home.

Vacuum Often

Use a vacuum with a HEPA filter, and vacuum all your floors and furniture often. This will help clean up pet hair and dander, as well as dust that clings to your carpet and stays on your floors even after sweeping. Your furniture also collects dust, so be sure to vacuum your couches. Don’t forget to vacuum your mattress and wash your bedding regularly too.

Keep the air in your home cleaner by changing your HVAC system’s air filter regularly. Call AC Heating and Air Conditioning Services today at (843) 277-9928.
